COVID-19 Protocol

  • Capacity & Social Distancing

          • Capacity will be limited to the designated number of individuals established by the venue in use.
          • The venue in use will provide more than enough space in all public areas for adequate social distancing.
          • Audience seating will be limited to 200 seats. These seats will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Seats will be arranged such that individuals from the same home/studio can sit together and distance themselves from others.
          • Teachers and parents are asked to limit their viewing to the sections in which they have dancers performing.
          • Studios must restrict the number of teachers and parents attending the competition and assisting with students in the dressing rooms.
          • Dressing rooms will be divided such that more than 6 feet of space can be maintained between each studio.
          • On-stage Master Classes will be divided into smaller class sizes so dancers are able to stay properly socially distanced throughout class. The stage will be divided into a grid format so dancers can be fully aware of the amount of space they have to work in.
          • The competition is organized such that each age group is competing in specific blocks of time to avoid cross-contamination between age groups.

    Temperature Checks

          • All individuals (dancers, teachers, parents, etc.) will be required to have their temperature checked each day.
          • Wrist bands (color-coded for each day) will be given once an individual has had their temperature checked. A new wrist band must be obtained each day.
          • Any individual with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be kindly asked to leave.

    Face Coverings

          • Face coverings will be required in ALL public areas.

    Hand Washing/Sanitizing

          • Thorough hand washing is recommended multiple times per day, in addition to frequent use of hand sanitizer.
          • Hand sanitizer will be available in multiple locations on-site but individuals are also encouraged to bring their own.
          • Individuals are asked to sanitize their hands when entering and exiting each ballroom.
          • The venue in use will exercise additional cleaning procedures in order to ensure all public spaces and high-touch surfaces are thoroughly and consistently cleaned throughout the event weekend.

Awards Ceremonies

        • An Awards Ceremony will take place after each age group to avoid cross-contamination between age groups.
        • Awards Ceremonies will happen in a contact-free fashion.
        • One representative from each ensemble will be asked to approach the stage to represent the group.

COVID-19 Health Waiver

        • All competing dancers will be required to submit a signed COVID-19 waiver on their first day of check-in. Participants will not be permitted to attend the event without the submission of such waiver.
        • All parents/guardians will be required to verify, to the best of their knowledge, their dancer has been entirely free of flu-like symptoms for the duration of the two weeks preceding the event.

In Case of Event Shut Down

        • If our live event is required by the city of San Francisco to cease operations due to sudden changes in the status of COVID-19 protocols, our event will immediately move to a virtual format. All participants will be automatically transferred to the virtual competition. The difference in fees will be refunded to all participants.

These guidelines and procedures are subject to change as we monitor any updates set forth by the San Mateo County Health Department.
